Overnight on Sleeper Train
Your sleeper train arrives into Aswan in the morning, where your Aswan-based guide will meet you at the station and begin the day at the Aswan High Dam, the massive 20th-century engineering project that controls the Nile’s flow and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
From there, you’ll take a short motorboat ride to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and relocated in a UNESCO-led rescue operation to save it from rising floodwaters.
After lunch, you’ll be transferred to the dock to board your Nile cruise ship, where you’ll check into your cabin and have the remainder of the afternoon free to settle in, relax on deck, and watch Aswan’s riverbank scenery as the ship prepares to sail.

After breakfast aboard the ship, you’ll sail north toward Kom Ombo, arriving in the late morning or early afternoon. Here you’ll visit the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated jointly to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, with mirrored halls, sanctuaries, and courts built side by side.
The temple also houses the Crocodile Museum, displaying mummified crocodiles once worshipped in ancient times. After the visit, you’ll reboard the ship for lunch and continue sailing toward Edfu, with the rest of the afternoon free to relax on the sun deck, watch village life along the riverbanks, or enjoy onboard activities as the ship cruises north. Your guide will point out the temple’s remarkably intact reliefs, towering pylons, and inner sanctuary before you return to the ship for lunch as it continues sailing toward Luxor.
The ship typically arrives in Luxor in the afternoon or evening, and depending on arrival time, you may visit Luxor Temple after dark, when its columns and statues are dramatically lit against the night sky, sitting right along the Nile corniche in the heart of the city. Dinner is served on board.
